It is an amazing school to study. I'm looking forward to finish my degree then.

The location is nice Professors here range from super good to mediocre at best as expected from any educational institution Would recommend going here if Humber and universities r not your thing and your looking to attend college in Toronto instead

My love starts here.

Did the first 3 years of my accounting studies here. Amazing campus, right in the heart of the city. All my professors were professionals in the field and gave me real-world info. Lots of fun night-school classes available too. Cooking, baking, acting, you name it, they have it. A fun thing to do with a friend or significant other!

They let you use their printer

Good

The service is very bad at the international center and the staff are not friendly and have no experience in dealing with international students

Has the best faculty to teach you and practical knowledge holds a lot of importance in the course that I'm doing here (culinary management). This is exactly what I needed and I can't stress enough how much I have learned since starting my studies here. The photos I posted are some of the amazing dishes we made as a part of our practical labs.

Love George brown college...

Bad service for international students, nobody mentions about if I pass the accuplacer test, i will lose my registered slot for May's semester. So if so, please tell us before the test, or just ask for money if you guys need it!! SO BAD, and don't use those rude words to your student.

Great location. Great service. Most staff are great. Help after graduation to find jobs and alumni savings. Great to experience living downtown and on your own. Very helpful and knowledgeable teachers that are willing to answer questions.

Security got me through what I needed to do during this virus outbreak.

Great campus, caring chefs and professors

Love the building

Day1 ; orientation - it was amazing and very easy to understand ! The people are very friendly so far !

I won’t recommend Employees ignoring when you have some issues with something, all what they will say we are working remotely, they aren’t going to call you if you will send an email, they will say thank you for email that’s all.

At first I was not to crazy about the campus, but after first semester flew by all wanted to do was be on time and do the assignments. Now we are in remote term I miss the old brick building. If you reach out to staff you can count on a reply. Excellent student experience.

Berry nice professors, but some people are a little too extreme. I managed to survive the place without redbull.

Miss my school!

Great kitchens for culinary classes, great teachers, clean building

Great School and the Crowd is also very amazing

This is not a school, it's a business. Most courses don't have content. We literally had 2 different courses under different names teaching the exact same things. They always increase the fee before the second term starts without any notice. Most people don't realize and end up paying the interest. They mostly do it to international students who come here to study as they can't just cancel it and go back. There are many racist instructors. They deserve 0 but that's not an option here.

Worst customer service & no effective advice provided to potential students. They also show no respect for people and no willingness to help out except asking for money. The call centre is slow and the lady who answered the phone was very rude. Apparently, their staff do not care about the students' career and personal development. Since I have many other options and the price is not that different, I would never take any course from them unless they have personnel changes to meet a similar standard other colleges/universities provide. Also, contrary to some other people's opinion, their staff are not flexible. BTW, they also lost millions dollars in a law suit because of their lack of credibility. Check it out yourself on the Toronto Star.

Great place to study! I like it!

A college for all

What about parking , free ?

Its really a wonderful opportunity to be student at George brown College. I found the college as a great platform where we get chances to explore an array of opportunities. I am grateful to the supportive team at admission office to name them Gary Hoyer for providing me the right instructions, ideas and counseling. I am also thankful to Laurence Yip for his every support and guidance right from processing application to admission guidelines. I am amazed by the Financial aid office receptionist Andrea Brown who is really brilliant and well informed about the student support. She has given me every guidelines for applying the OSAP and other possible grants. Thank you all for your personal care, prompt reply to my correspondence and practical counseling to the students.

These students have good drinking water and plenty of knowlegable classes for the continuous student, striving for excellence.

Nice place & well kept gardens. Squirrels, pidgeons + dogs

This is my brothers

nice view

I was a student at this establishment and I majored in Graphic Design, and graduated in 2001 of June. It was Awesome, but it was difficult work.

Culinary school is fun and top notch. The experience is breath taking and the Chefs are very good at what they do.

Great place to study and work. The library doesn't need id card to get in ;)

Bad experience back in the 90's. took the GAS program. ended up not finishing because the electives weren't not presented in an equitable way. I would have had to go back for a 3rd year because they ran out of spaces. Also after the first year they did not send my transcript on time when I was trying to apply to York U. I would have got in with my marks but again the course got full because of GB's negligence, and probably because of my ignorance and a teenager, I had a hard time advocating for myself there as a Spec ED student. They seemed all about the money, more then Student success. hopefully things have changed at Charlie Brown College.

Good place to take courses or even a while program. Most programs give a combination of theory and practical experience to become job ready.

I attended GBC from 2011-2012. This is the school that fails to teach. I asked the LGBT coordinator for a 'Trans 101' workshop--having no past experience with the Trans community, it would have significantly helped my understanding. Unfortunately, the manager of clubs whom was also staff decided she'd take the coordinators side in the discussion. There was no impartiality. I'm very disappointed in a school such as George Brown that it came down to them telling me in so many words, I should know. Well, I would've liked to learn, but the decision to permit the workshop wasn't left up to me, not the manager of clubs. It was ultimately the coordinator's decision and he said no. It didn't help my year, nor my current mis-understanding of the Trans Community.

a lot of exaggeration personally. not the best option for college in Toronto

This is the best college that I ever see.

They offer one of the best nursing program, great practical approach, I was able to get a great placement and after graduating was able to get a job in a month or so. Also had some amazing teachers and counsellors.

- Small building - crowded + near downtown

Perfect location, engaged professors and helpful staff. Wouldn't choose another school.

Great place to study

Anyone for sep 2022 intake Please Contact me on insta- iarsh_001

(Translated) GBC (George Brown College) is an excellent option if you want to study in Toronto. It has different educational offers as well as an English course of very good quality and official recognition of the government of Canada. The facilities are excellent. Good. Here is my College. Build a student car park please!!!!

I'm taking their video game 3D modeling program. The professors are all amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoy most of my classes (can count on one hand ones I didn't like). At the end of each term I can honestly look back and see how much I have improved and it shows in my portfolio. The campus is located near a lot of food places and Staples is right next door too.

Is it a conflict of interest if your prof does his PD time during class?

Love this place. Great friends to meet here, good location, I like the classes....

Amazing college!! Best in Toronto! I would even say better than Humber! And Humber is really up there as well!

so pleased with the education I am receiving through the Community Worker program here at the St.James campus of George Brown College.

Very Quite because of covid lockdown except for a few students, staff and security. Clean and safety precautions are in place to ensure the well being of persons within

cathy weyman from the business department student services is rude, uncompassionate and unwilling to help. she deliberately chose to ignore a message from me that she's read, and it was urgent. yet when i need help with these things unfortunately shes the only 1 to go to. very unpleasant

One of the Best place to study in Toronto. They provide excellent infrastructure and so many things to do for students. They also help the students in different ways like free grovery etc.

Fair prices and professional teachers. Thanks Lorence

Good college

Terrible staff and student services. They do not care about their service level, simply because they have the advantage of being located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Quality education given

Good College

Its a vert good college. I like the method to learn ENGLISH there

Took their two year marketing program. It was alright. Decent professors and great student life.

Administration a bit disorganized, but great campus with amazing profs

Nice place, although a lot of students. Staff are friendly and helpful and a lot if support and tutoring I'd you need it. Hot tip: always smells like food; pizza, buns, anything you will smell.

I cannot say enough about how much I love George Brown College, St.James Campus! I took the pre-community services program and I had the best experience! Their is so much support and resources available at your finger tips! The staff are there to help, but be diligent in your pursuit for your future. Being your own advocate will ensure your success :)

I love this school

I applied for a started program aka baking pre employment and that had to be in my opinion below average as a college student attending their first year. I found that some professors I had a second time because I returning for another semester to complete other work that was too much of a pile up on my agenda that they had me questioning how they got a career in what they do. One thing that made no sense to me was when I was told the smart serve was mandatory in order to graduate..sounds like this school or maybe just the program itself likes to throw plot twists at students because I thought your gpa is the focus? I've had my good moments with my peers but that is all.

Speaking only for the spa services - students are amazing and the space is clean n comfy (after a horrible experience at Avola)... got a great medi pedi from Shanika!

Good staff and clear explanation on the subject what they are teaching to students...

It's aii i hear all the tings are at campus by the wata doe

Good place for continuing education - conveniently located and well equipped

I am hospitality student of the college surrounded with chef students plus celebrity chef john higgins

This school is a good school and well known in Canada, but examiners at the placement tests are extremely rude and noisy because they were chatting all the time during the admission tests and the placement tests. That affect to many sensitive test takers who are not used to take exams with so much noise. Honestly, this is terrible and they should change the terrible attitudes during the exams immediately.

best college in the city!

I love this college its my favourite college .... Acadamic study is really intersting ...????????

I studied Graphic Design here, and ended up in Japan teaching English. So I used the graphic design skills and ideas that they taught me in George Brown to compete with huge schools in Japan by designing full colour posters, with Corel Draw software, and then photocopying the design prints, at the local 7 11 and convenience stores called Family Mart, and putting the signs up on poles, and public display places, to get students. The point is George Brown helped keep me working in Japan in a very competitive market by teaching me confidence in the skills I had learned, and graphic design. So that is why, George Brown, is a cool school, that rules. :)

best

Amazing Campus

I loved attending class here, wonderful environment, staff, and people. It was quite unfortunate that COVID19 forced the school to shut down a bit early before March break but I would highly recommend going here. Especially if you are getting into the Culinary arts program! Wonderful Chefs!

Least accessible school I have been to. Disability Services will get angry at students and argue with them rather than help them, and promise one thing and then not deliver. Randomly schedule changes, with no warning aside from a random link you have to poke around to actually find. Teachers are okay, but I would question how much many of them know. I would question their grasp of English too in some cases, because there would be three answers for one question all saying the same thing in a slightly different way, which leaves you guessing what they think the correct wording is rather than what the actual answer is. Teachers don't accept doctors notes and require a college illness verification form to be filled out, which costs more than a doctors note some places, but they insist no doctor will charge you for completing it. Financial aid knows nothing about OSAP, Counselling will see you once and tell you to go somewhere else. They have a food bank and a food market, but won't tell you where it is. Disability Services and many professors will ignore your emails. The program coordinators won't do anything to help you in any situation. Etc. Course content is great, at times. But this place is administrative hell. Go to Sheridan, or Humber. Or Seneca. George Brown would almost make a great double for the show Community, without the fun.

The advisor/tutor in assessment center may be irresponsible for what you've done. I just finished my English placement test in GBC earlier this morning and I want to share my experience with you. In my writing test, a story (about 50 words) is used at the beginning of my essay as a hook to catch the reader's attention. This is one of the skills my GBC ESL teacher recommend to me. But the advisor claimed that I should not write a story in my essay. I tried to explain this is a kind of expressing skill but she insisted that her criteria is different from ESL school. Therefore she put me in fundamental level and charged me additional fees for the course. I asked her about how is the other parts and she knew nothing about the rest. It is felt like that the advisors just want to find an excuse to place you in the fundamental level and they do not care about your actual ability at all.

Good College, Good profs, Good programs and nice locations

Good college and location

Nice school, perfect teachers and student service

Arguably the worst post-secondary school in the GTA, I could go into depth about just how bad george brown is, as an institution. 0 stars I regret not accepting enrolment in a university.

Alumni 2007 Culinary Management! Had some of the best times of my life in these years! Highly recommended!

Went to school here and found the quality of education itself lacking. The staff are all generally nice and professional but the courses themselves are quite poor. Being a college, many of the courses are structured to pass as many students as possible. I have had professors literally hand out the exams + answers prior to the exams for students to study with, I've had exams where you could do it as a group and take the exam anywhere in the school...including the library, and I've had professors cancel exams altogether and just passed everyone. Given that many students are also working, there is a lot of pressure on the professors to pass students even though the students themselves are not putting in the necessary efforts. This results in easy exams and lowers the quality of education. There are also a lot of random electives...for example I took one called "That's so physics!" which had no math or calculations at all. It was taught by a biology teacher who didn't know physics and she just kept talking about biology. Very weird. There were some interesting electives but overall most people just come here to get their diploma and move on.

Best for Marketing and HR management programs. You get the benefit of getting hired quickly. GBC is best among all colleges in Toronto and GTA

Overall a good campus considering how small it is. There's a food court on the main and basement floors. Several areas for students to relax between classes. The gym is ok considering it's free for students but it lacks enough equipment to really be a good gym. The washrooms are a problem. They are often quite dirty as students leave stuff everywhere. Students also leave a lot of garbage in the classrooms and hallways.

Stay away from their PLC courses. I 'enrolled' thinking that it was a legitimate training program. It is not. It is a digitized book, you read a paragraph, click 'next' and read another paragraph. When you're done you can take a test. After all of the chapters of the digital book you get a 'certificate'. The only reason I chose George Brown College is because they (through several different URL's) are the online school advertising a certificate program, which looks better on a resume than just training.

(Translated) Even if you don't have classes because of the corona, you have to do administrative work normally, but even during business hours, the door is firmly closed and there is no message that the school is not open.

Waste of Time and Money for Post graduate students!!! Employs incompetent instructors who like calling them professors. Don't care about student's best interests. In class lectures for much of management and IT are useless and instructors try to ask student to study online. in totality you won't gain any skill or competency apart from goggling your answers and typing. FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS it is good place as they can work all they need and no need to come to classes... GBC is simply hopeless!

awesome place!

Horrible campus. Horrible professors. Waste of time and money.

A good college right in the middle of Downtown Toronto. Good amenities, professors and brand.

Very good school. The teachers are always ready to answer to any questions. I would say that's the first thing that positively surprised me, with also their availability. The administration on site or throught their website is also helpful. If you want to succeed in your studies, this is the right place.

Excellent NO RIP OFF education (like Universities that milk you for your last cent for useless undergrad degrees, I know I have one) Staff are polite and accomodating, Students are REAL looking to get a job once they've graduated NOT a placement at a sorority.

Great College!

Ones who are not attending, have no clue what they are missing!!! Great experience.

The best college on Toronto !!

amazing place but some of the profs who work there are kindof nuts be careful if you have someone who should be in a senior who lecturing you

beat campus ive been too

Upsetting afterschool feedback: gbc discloses your private information such as phone number and your first and last name to the 3rd parties, to convey a survey after your graduation. 3rd parties keep calling you on behalf of gbc till you get very frustrated. I mean they could call you 2-3 times per day, not leaving any voice message. Also, they are not taking "no" for an answer. They said they would keep calling you untill you do it. It is just unhuman and totally breaches any understanding of the privacy or any manners.
