If you’re placing an order online with this company and you live in Canada here’s my suggestion: DO NOT DO IT!!! I placed an order on July 19 2020, with the understanding that one of the items was a pre-order. I received notification on August 14th that my pre-order item had shipped. Sometime around September 15-17th I realized I still hadn’t received my item, so I called their customer service and was told that it was on hold in customs and had been for a while. I found it odd as I’ve never had something like this happen to me before, but shirked it off. I waited until around October 20th to call them back again because I had STILL not received my item (over 2 months into this ordeal). The phone agent advised me that the order HAD BEEN RETURNED TO THEM, so they advised that they would issue me a refund. I asked the phone agent why I was not informed that the item I had paid for had been returned and had not been refunded I received no viable answer. At this point I began to think that something shady is going on with this company. Why do I have to contact you in order to receive a refund for an item that you know has been returned? Every other store I have ever made an online purchase with will automatically refund the purchase once it has been returned, but apparently that excludes Spirit Halloween. Anyways, the phone agent advised that he processed the refund and I should see it reflected in 14-21 days, which is exceptionally long, but I was just glad I was going to get my money back. Today, November 12th I remembered that I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND FOR MY ITEM. So I called them back and this phone agent said she would re-issue the refund and that it would be another 14-21 days before I receive the refund (and here’s the kicker) she said “If you don’t receive the refund at that time please call us back.” What do you mean? There’s ANOTHER chance I’m not going to get my money back and will have to call you guys AGAIN? How long is this entire process going to take and how often does this happen that you have to say that? It’s been 3 MONTHS already and is getting to be absolutely ridiculous. This entire experience has been far too time-consuming and horrible and I’m currently, still out the money that I’m rightfully owed. I’ll make sure I purchase elsewhere going forward.

Hours listed are incorrect or else the store closed early without posting any notes. Arrived 50 minutes before closing and doors were locked. Unfortunate most costumes are meant for small people and very limited number of plus size costumes.

Our experience would have been five star if these two random women took control of their wild children.. these two kids were screaming the entire time we were in the store?!? If your kids are uncomfortable, consider removing them from the situation. My son and I left after fifteen minutes of being here.. we would of liked to look around longer but even the employees refrained from saying anything about the wild children .. these women didn’t purchase anything. Maybe shop online to avoid lowlifes like these “parents”..

I was just fired from this location because I raised concerns that precautions for Covid19 were NOT being followed. For instance, the past two weeks during day shift there has been no hand sanitizer available for customer use at the door. I was twice chastised by my manager for using sanitizing wipes on the doors, my cash register station and the shopping baskets, she said it was a waste of my time. Protect yourself, this location won't.

Won’t do any refund after the 19th of October, even though I live quite far away from them and haven’t been to that city since I bought the items. Keep that in mind when you’re spending alot of money there. Also, their selection didn’t really have anything fancy this year, which was quite disappointing.

It's a great store to buy more everyday horror household decorations and not just for Halloween...staff is always friendly and asking if help is needed lots of times...the mask problem people have (thats everywhere so deal with it ????) we walked in with just our toddler, we haven't left empty handed or unhappy once and we've been there 3 times since it opened...and guess what, we're going to be coming back lots until it's done for the year again!!

Made it all the way over to Dartmouth to buy my costume today because it says they're open until 7pm on Sundays but the doors from outside aren't the entrance and the mall was all locked up. How are they even going to be open until 11pm on Fri/sat if the mall is closed at 9pm? Very disappointed I was very in love with the costume I was going to buy.

The store manager was awful. I went in to find a costume for my work, they had no changing rooms and we had to try the costumes on at a table in the back half of the store over our clothes. When I was putting the costume on the manager got mad that the costume was touching the ground since it was dirty, then preceded to claim the costume would not fit me and claimed I ripped it. I bought the costume anyways and brought it home to try on anyways. The costume is actually too big and I can’t return it because the manager wrote on my receipt after I “ripped it”. I looked at the inside seems and there’s no way I had ripped it myself by trying it on. Will not be returning to this location.

I was in here a couple weeks ago and had a great time with my 2 yr old son. The staff members were awesome and they were not inforcing masks at all. We went back today to buy costumes for our family of 4 - we were ready to spend a fair amount of money. When we came in we were stopped by a staff member saying they have a mandatory mask policy now and that we have to wear masks while in the store. I told them I'm exempt from wearing a mask and that I have 2 young kids that won't wear masks. They said my kids are exempt from wearing masks and are allowed in because they're under 5 years old. I explained again that I'm exempt from wearing a mask but they still denied me service and said we had to leave if I don't wear one. How is that logical? Small kids that are full of germs and touch everything don't have to wear masks but an adult with an exception gets discriminated. I understand the staff were just following orders but if they have an exemption for kids under 5 they should also allow people over 5 who have an exemption too. I'll be making a human rights violation complaint with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.

My daughter bought a costume in Oct 23rd and was to small so I went to take it back and they wouldn’t give my money back only an exchange after Oct 22nd had i known that at the time i would have taken her somewhere else and the guy at the till was rude and didn’t care to here what I had to say…. Very last time I ever support a business that doesn’t care about customer service. So now I’m stuck with an over price costume that I’m sure I could have pd a lot less for. Buyer be ware.

Not a lot of selection compared to the web page. Anything they do have is very limited stock for sizing. Get in early if you want something decent or specific. Don't expect customer service either. Even when you ask the employees aren't sure of the correct answer. Downfall of pop up shops

Really disappointed in this store. My daughter looked through the store and found the costume she wanted, and it even had 2 stickers stating it was on sale for cheaper than tag. Long story short they wouldn't honor the sticker price. What a joke.

Bought a costume and was thrilled with them giving me 20% off my purchase, so it said on the bill. I went to return the costume, because I found something I liked more and they only gave me back 100$ instead of the 115$ that I paid on the bill. I asked why, and they had used that 20% and filled it with 15 x1$ donations to their charity. I said that I never authorized that and they said they can not return a charitable donation. I don't mind giving to charity but this is stealing. Make sure you look at your bill right after payment!

We shopped at this store, this weekend, and wore out face masks, and used the hand sanitizer, as asked by Health Canada, yet everyone was allowed to try on all their face masks, without them being sanitized first. When I mentioned to a guy that was making sure everyone wore a mask and used hand sanitizer, that it shouldn't be allowed while Covid 19 is still on the rise, he wasn't bothered. This I have reported to Health Canada, because we all still need to be careful, especially with Covid on the rise in our schools. It's store has a great quantity of Halloween merchandise, but rules need to be set in place to protect us.

If you're shopping for a young child, avoid this store. There are very scary animated mannequins around the entire entrance and a freaky talking doll talking about her mommy. We needed 2 things, a witches hat and broom for a young child....she was terrified. I had to carry her half the time. Then when she didn't want to go near the mannequins for the entrance to the line, we stood behind the only patrons at check out. During our time standing there, a couple entered the queue line and the cashier told me that they were next in line! After telling them that my daughter is too scared to pass the mannequins to get in the damned line, she served me! Never again will you see my business. First and last time

Terrible costumer service!!!! The manager is the absolute worst!!! Spent $70 on a costume only to get it home and find two out of three pieces of the costume were missing. Tried to bring it back to the Dartmouth location, not for a refund, but simply to get at least one of the missing pieces so I could wear the costume. The managers response "I won't return this costume, it's new". After arguing with the guy for 10 minutes, he finally said "that is the best I can do". Completely frustrated I responded "So the best you can do is absolutely nothing" To which his response was "Exactly". Words can't describe how disrespectful and arrogant this manager was. NEVER will I ever buy anything from spirit Halloween again!!

Hello, The products sold at spirit halloween is always great. The shop is always well decorated and has great music. However, the employees are extremely bad at their jobs. I do not mean to complain, I am usually very understanding as I work in retail myself. Though, I have been treated like garbage everytime I come into this shop. Please, please, please employees of Spirit Halloween, put on a smile. I do not know what is wrong with them, but they always seem very annoyed to answer questions and they barely ever know how to answer them anyways. I have been told stuff like "I don't know, just look around" in a dry tone and "credit, debit or cash?" instead of "hello" when paying. I know working in retail is hard, but right now the employees aren't even doing the minimum in terms of customer service. Please, unless you are going as zombies for halloween, put on a smile and be human :)

We had gone to the Market Mall location, as stated in another review we had several mugs broken due to poor packaging, not wishing to return there we went to the Lawson Heights location, the staff was once again very friendly. The store was cash only that day, I would have liked a jumping spider or 2 since they were on sale but alas next time maybe. The staff exchanged the mugs although they didn’t have both the same they gave another in it’s place, imagine my surprise when they hold up 2 cups, no bag, and state they are out of wrapping paper and send us on our way, yes I left the store 1/2 laughing 1/2 shaking my head in disbelief. I do highly recommend this store, we have made purchases in the past years with no problems at all.
