Another of the batteries at Point Pleasant Park, designed for defense of the city, with great views of the harbour mouth. When I was a kid we could walk around the battery and loved it, but unfortunately it has been fenced off for safety reasons. Hopefully someday it will receive some maintenance so people can look more closely at this example of our country's military history. Several other great sites at Point Pleasant Park.

It is nice to keep the defence system as it is important for local history. Hope one day they will reopen to the public, but understanding it might be a safety issue.
