Was our last meal during our Halifax stay; should have stopped here earlier in the week. Meals (steak and fish/chips) were great, staff were courteous, relaxed and efficient. Not the best of views (faces north, away from the harbour), but that doesn't detract from the experience.

Absolutely the worst service from a bartender I have ever had. Zero personality, rude service and dripping with arrogance. I won’t be back here ever. It’s a pitty because Scott that worked there for years was always welcoming and pleasant. This place took a downward spiral... someone needs to go into that place and clean, it stinks and should be taken better care of. I sat there for 40 minutes looking at this dirty table no one bothered to clean!

Food was average, very very average. We had the Works pizza... really quite terrible for the price they charged. Tasteless dough and sauce, toppings not arranged at all and really little. The chowder was just alright with very little seafood, lots of potato though. Very little effort put into the food. Service was slow despite it being really empty. Did not feel like a pub at all. Service was not really friendly. Decor was dated.

This little historic pub ducked under Nscad us a lovely place to grab a beer. There's a pretty wide selection of beers, though not cider, and a small selection of deep fried goodies if you need some munchies. There seems to always be some lovely live music in the evening. The staff are great.

The service was a little slow considering that my friend and I only got soup, but our waitress was very nice and helped me pick out a beer (the propeller bitter--it was great!). The Split Crow is definitely a cool looking place, and fun to be in. We got the lobster chowder and it was pretty good--big chunks of lobster in tasty broth-- but the lobster was kind of rubbery. I would recommend this restaurant!

One of my favorite places to grab a drink and a bite in the HRM. Always friendly staff, food and drinks are good, good selection of live entertainment. Stairs leading down to the bathrooms have become something of legend now for the steepness, so much so that there are "I fell down the Stairs at the Split Crow" clubs and social media pages :P

First of all we spent 30 mins just for someone to take our order, the place was so jam packed and loud we couldn't hear the waitress. My food was barely lukewarm when it came to our table and we were double charged our drinks! I couldn't even play the stupid VLT's there because they kept getting "shut down error" bullshit. I can say that was my first and last time at the Split Crow. I give them a rating of 5 fails and a fist shake for robbing my whole evening.

Split Crow is a nice pub with a mixture of local and tourist folks we were in Halifax to attend a concert and to know the town. We came across this pub by chance and really had a good evening. One of the oldest pubs in town founded in 1749 good history there. the food and drinks were good first time trying perogies. A local band started playing around 9 and played some original stuff. Good atmosphere. Service was awesome! I’ll be back here next time I’m Nova Scotia. :)

Visiting from Vancouver on a rainy, cold June day and went in to warm up. My friend and I both ordered the seafood chowder. We fell in love with it. Absolutely beyond the best seafood chowder either of us have had in our lives. I still dream about it. Came in feeling cold and tired, left feeling like a million bucks, all because of the chowder. Old pub atmosphere. By that I mean it's dark and smells of old beer. Menu is standard pub fare. Food is good and generous servings and service is prompt and friendly.

Great service, cold beer, decent pub food. We had the scallops + chips and fish + chips, both of which were good. Even the mice must like this place as we saw a couple running around the floor! Fine dining it’s not, but if you’re looking for a good pub with great service this place fits the bill.

This is the best place downtown for friendliness, service and big smiles. I stopped there with my wife Friday we ordered a draft each and really wanted to have a meal there. Due to the fact my wife had surgery recently and had to use a walker, she was unable to use the bathroom downstairs. We will go back once she is not reliant on a walker. The atmosphere was awesome and I would highly recommend this place. Kudos to the staff for a short but fun experience.

The cover charge bracelet said 25% off meal when ordering brunch breakfast.....well they need to tell the wait staff that! Drinks pricey. Likely making their money off the cruise ships and tourists. Not a welcoming place to anyone over 50... or with grey hair . They definitely cater to the university crowd.
