I have walked in this part every day with my dogs for 5 years. Lots of great trails and well shaded if it's hot out.

Fun times at festival!

(Translated) Easy parking. Very large park and availability for school trips. (Original) Facilité à stationnement. Très grand parc et disponibilités pour les sortie scolaire.

Has a nice baseball diamond for junior leagues.

Excellent activities for the kids!

Beautiful, and peaceful park. I was here on January 20th, and they look like they are getting ready for Festival duVoyageur. Lots of workers bustling around clearing snow and seeing up fences.

I am there mostly for the river trails of a few yearly events. Wide open spaces, excellent ball diamonds and lots of options for multi purpose paths not only in this park but an adjacent one and more. Added bonus Fort Gibraltar although access to the fort itself is very limited.

A park in the heart of the downtown right across from the Forks but far less crowded. Parking is easy and walks along the Red are pleasant. Consider it for a bicycle destination or a picnic. With a little work you can connect to city-wide bicycle paths Facilities include historic Fort Gibraltar and high-end baseball and soccer fields. In the winter a toboggan slide and ice climbing tower. Strictly, dogs must be leashed but most aren't. It's canine heaven.

Good place to go for a walk and to see historical venue

Great park and great lighting for late night games. Love playing here

Gorgeous grounds. The bike paths here are excellent. There is a huge ballpark, and of course the Fort

Amazing

Many great memories

Beautiful park for a quick walk in the city. Lots of space to sit and have a picnic with the family. Would recommend!

All year round nice place to go!

Well maintained park. Very clean.

Fun day running and playing.

Great bike trails. They run along the river and within the forest area.

Lots to see and do here during the festival du Voyager

I like it cause it is still somewhat wild. You can ( if lucky) see wildlife in and around this oasis. Still undeveloped. Great for hikes, moutainbiking and walking the dog( exercise caution if off-leash is your thing).

Great place for mountain biking.

Great place to hold the Festival du Voyageur! Except for parking that is.

Very good place to have a wedding

Best amateur baseball park in Winnipeg!

Beautiful river trail.

A little hidden gem in St. B.

Bike trail is great and so much green space

Beautiful, fair-sized park with many walking and biking trails! Also of note; this is where the Seine River meets up with the Red River so that is cool!

Great bike trails

Pretty nice park

Great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet

Hidden gem of a park - very clean and some good bike trails by the river.

Nice forested area that is calm and relaxing to walk through.

Great place for the festival du joyageur

Good field, night lights & decent stands.

Great ball diamond. Nice Riverside walking trails.

Nice park. Soccer pitch, ball diamond and walking paths.

Great location for an outdoor theatre by theater by the river

A good conference dinner with entertainment. Period costumes and replicas are are well done. Axe throwing was also a rare treat.

Awesome ????

(Translated) Trains pass frequently and the surroundings are a little noisy. (Original) 기차가 빈번하게 지나가서 주변이 좀 시끄럽다

Great park for walking along the river. Fort G is neat, too. One of my favorite local greenspaces.

I've only every been here in winter during 'Le Festival'. Lots to see and do if you're an adult with an interest in history. Lots of music and drinking in the evenings, it's a struggle to keep kids entertained here for much more than an hour or two.

Lots of great bike trails.

A nice ball park by the river. Whittier Park is one of the 3 venues for baseball at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

Actors living out the OLD TIMES. Its a very quick and short visit. Don't expect anything great! The website exaggerates a lot.

(Translated) Very nice park (Original) Très joli parc

Fun park

Good view of the city skyline

Peaceful!

This place is magical. I just wish it was gluten free.

Great place to hang out with friends. The ground is clean and view is amazing.

Beautiful park. The Soccer field on site is smaller than the average.

Nice little park. Single track trail along the river is fantastic.

Keep our heritage

Nice stroll.

it sucks

Was here for Festival du Voyageur. Lots of cool history.

Festival in Feb!

Always a joy for festival du voyager

Nice place

Lots of walkways and trees close to the heart of downtown Winnipeg.

Hé ho! Festival du voyageur is magic! If you haven't made it out to celebrate the festival's 50th year, you are missing the biggest party of the winter!

(Translated) Festival du Voyageur, among other things. (Original) Festival du Voyageur, among other things.

didnt notice there was a park there!

Nice place.

I like it

Good climbing trees, lots of dirt. Not enough dogs.

Great walking path.

Great trails and not to crowded

Great soccer field

It's well groomed and beautiful trails behind along the river ????

Great ride through the park. I bought a bicycle last spring (an MTB) so I tried out the dirt paths, and found a few geocaches while I was passing them anyway. It adds some distance to my commute, so I might take my alternate if time is short, but this is a nice scenic ride to and from work.

Though Fort Gibraltar in the park is closed due to covid, there are nice trails among the trees by the river. Just watch for cyclists. Some come by fast and they don't ring bells to warn you.

Nice place for a wintertime walk. Pathways could use a bit of grooming. Would like to see a few warm-up shacks around the area especially when you have to walk against that North wind that blows off the Red River. Can be very raw on the cheeks. The walk along the tracks is nice and there is lots of sites to see. I eould advise against wearing ear buds with the Tunes going off in your ears....this is an active track and yrans can 'sneak up' on you very fast.

Was a nice park at one point in time, it has now become a park full of homeless camps and gatherings place for questionable activities

Went to the Festival du Voyageur had a fantastic time

Great ride along river all the way to Marion Hotel

Nice walk along the river. Starts on the left side of the fort.

Very nice ball diamond and field.

(Translated) Festival Du voyageur! Interesting !!! (Original) Festival Du voyageur! Intéressant !!!

Like it

One of the best parks in the Winnipeg's French quarter. Summer youth baseball is usually done here. The newly renovated splash pad and the public pool is a great way to cool off the summer heat.

It's a park

Nice service.

I came here for festival de voyageur, I had a lot of fun, the location was clean.

Beautiful park, biking, hiking. Soccer field

Ok i guess

Very cool walking and bike paths

Great park with a wild feel

Great history

(Translated) You have to visit Fort Gibraltar. (Original) Il faut visiter le fort Gibraltar.

Great waking and bike trails

(Translated) Love Festival of the Traveler !! (Original) Love Festival du Voyageur !!

Whittier Park - a hidden gem in the middle of the city. Beautiful hiking/biking trails, the other Forks in Winnipeg of the Seine and Red Rivers, and Fort Gibraltar the recreation of the famous North West Company for complete with Voyagers and ladies of the period. Apparently they have Time Travelers weddings in a beautiful hall on site.

Nice forest feeling in the city. Great trails. Peaceful.

Great environment, many options for activities

There is a fort along the river for festival. A good lenght bike path along the river. A walking trail in the park and a crawler trail for RC Cars along the train tracks

This is awesome!

Festival du voyageur is always lovely to go to, would like to see similar events here in the summer. Really brings a sense of community and reminds us of our french roots.

This is a nice nature walk

Gorgeous walking/biking trail

Best Mt biking in Winnipeg trails need work must save this technical place

Great park

(Translated) Hey ho! A big pleasure at the Festival du Voyageur. (Original) Hé ho! Un gros plaisir au Festival du Voyageur.

Great mountain biking trails.

Home to Festival du voyager this park has lots to offer, besides the sweet sound of the music in the background for our famous festival du voyager, this park is great for hikes, jiggers or just a beautiful walk with the kids and dogs!@

Pay $25 for the opportunity to wait two hours in line in the cold ... no thanks

Good place for biking and hiking, fishing too. Lots of trees.

Festival De Voyageur -- Lots of fun, Great food, and learning about history!

Cool place. Like the Forge.

(Translated) Good park for running or picnicking with your family. Little traffic when there are no special events. (Original) Bon parc pour faire de la course à pied ou pour pique-niquer en famille. Peu de circulation lorsqu'il n'y a pas d'événements spéciaux.

Amazing

Well maintained, great walking and biking trails.

Went to Festival with my girlfriend and it was an amazing exoerience. Highly recommended

Good stop. Over looks the water

A good walking at this park.

This place is so fun to explore and good to get outside and connect with nature

Fort Gibraltar and Whittier Park are a terrific walking spot in any season

A good place to run the pup. I've seen deer, groundhogs, a muskrat, a fox, coyotes, turtles, and a few different birds of prey around here. Fireflies also appear on early summer evenings. Please make sure to clean up after yourselves.

One a favourite places to go in the city that’s close by for biking the trails in summer as well as winter.

The park is great in the summer time and winter. Nice path to walk on through the forest. Ample free parking spaces.

(Translated) Hé Ho (Original) Hé Ho

One of my favourite parks near downtown. Watch a sunset from the viewing tower, check out Fort Gibraltar, watch the Remax balloon launch, trek through the trails on the riverfront, go under the train bridge into the forest, watch a baseball game, there’s tons to do here and it’s never busy.

Beautiful green space

fire

Nice escape from the concrete jungle, there's a community garden, don't know how to get on the waiting list for a plot though. While you're there might as well visit For Gibraltar, a recreation of a North West Company trading fort that used to stand at the forks of the Red and Assiniboine rivers. There's an interpretive program during the summer and during Festival do Voyageur in February you can look into.

Fun time to be had at the festival du voyageur

Nice quiet park not crowded like most. No parking which is great for the neighborhood.

Went for a RC adventure on the bike trails near the river. Really great time out there! Met a few friendly folks, great way to get outside and enjoy yourself. Lots of people out jogging and walking on the path too, hope you enjoy your time out there too!

I play baseball at Whittier Park, probably one of the nicest facilities in the city

Nice layout. Very close to Fort Gibraltar in the St. Boniface area.

Beautiful place to go for a walk or a run or a picnic!

Pizza was soggy and the fries were cold!

(Translated) Home to Festival du Voyageur and Fort Gibraltar (Original) Home to Festival du Voyageur and Fort Gibraltar

Nice park, but picnic area is swarming with Wasps.

Interesting historical site, actors performing roles of people from that Era in history.

Beautiful place to spend time in

Beautiful view. Escape from the hustle of daily routines

$35 for one day at Festival is a little ridiculous.

Very beautiful scenery, absolutely breathtaking.

Got a pretty dope baseball diamond sucks I can't play anymore for now arm just came out of my body for no reason

If you are looking for a forested walk by the river, or beautiful ball diamonds, it's a great place. Located directly beside Fort Gibraltar, in St. Boniface. The problem I find is that the homeless really like it as well.

Nice place to get away from your city life.

I love the sick jump lines they build. Especially the one with the 4 big jumps on the south side of the train tracks, those are sick. It’d be sick for the trail builders to take some of the field next the baseball diamond and make a pavement (or dirt) pump track with jumps and a bunch of rollers.

Bike trails got me trippin', the best so far on this side of 'peg city.

Good for with kids

Beautiful green space right on the water. Interesting wooden structures including Fort Gibraltar next door. Very interesting residential houses to look at. No play structure or other entertainment for kids.

Great little park Good section for dogs Great little trail along a river

Loved it

One of my favorite places in Winnipeg, beautiful walk that leads you into Lagimodière-Gaboury Park

Awesome place

Lots of fun things to see and do (especially during Festival du Voyageur); location less than ideal if traveling from west aide of Winnipeg.

Some of the more intense trails I've been on.

(Translated) Festival Of The Traveler (Original) Festival Du Voyageur

Amazing bike trails and great variety of difficulty.

Historic

An absolutely beautiful and for me unknown park. The fort is cool. Fyi bathrooms are NOT open and their are 0 washrooms. Get out for a walk kiddy Korner to the forks ans waterfront!

Fun for the family summer or winter. Nice bike trails by the river

Nice place to walk the puppy.

Fun bike trails

Fun place to visit for families

Awesome monkey trails in the back by the creek. Nice park.

Site of the Festival du Voyageur during the winter

Nice ball diamonds

Great host to the Festival du Voyageur!

Beautiful place. I love it

Quiet park

Always fun ????

Great park, would visit again

(Translated) Festival of the Traveler (Original) Festival du Voyageur

Excellent excellent excellent

Beautiful place... The festival du voyager is super fun

I came here to try the hiking but the walkways were flooded. The riverbank are eroding severely. It looks like The City is just letting the bank give way and nothing is being done to stop it. It will be gone in a few years.

Nice bike and walking trails

Lovely heritage park

A park in the middle of the city, with an out of town feel. The path along the Red River goes to the Seine River, following that river until you exit the park, perhaps 2 km covered.

Paid $18 to get in at 7pm just to wait in line till after 11pm to see The Revival play at Festival du Voyageur. Finally gave up since the band started playing at 10:30 pm and we had already missed most of their set.

Great historical site. Family friendly

Great place to bring the family!

Well I wasn't at the park but if you park on the street in front, near the south steeetend you can get free wifi.

I love walking to this park with my dog. People are friendly in the area so I've never had trouble. I also bike the trails by the river in summer n fall when its a bit more dry. Its a nice relaxing park.

Great place for a Saturday morning walk

Beautiful place....

Great walking paths

Pleasant Park for a walk or bike riding on the gravel path, monkey trails in the trees. Decent spot for fishing at the junction of the Red River and Seine River.

Beautiful place to visit in the summer

very lovely forest in the summer

Such a fun time at Festival du Voyageur!! The staff and volunteers are so great. Wonderful family event!!!

Love it????

Nice park with good biking trails

Tons of room to dog walk.

This is the place I do mushroom hunting. There were these times I found a huge lode of oyster mushrooms and the hard to find chicken of the woods mushrooms.

Loved the wedding!!!

Lovely little park

Beautiful Park along the river and historic

Great place for Pokémon go

Festival was great!

Nice and friendly convenient for my family

Decent park has good access to cycling trail.

Festival was great

Hidden gem close to Downtown

(Translated) To see beautiful historical site (Original) À voir beau site historique

On of the best heritage sites in Winnipeg, in my opinion.

Beautiful venue for a wedding!! They have to move all the tablz to make room for the dance floor though.

Open place to walk.

I’ve been to Whittier Park mostly to attend Festival du Voyageur. The festival occurs yearly in winter and it’s a lot of fun with various snow sculptures, performers, French Canadian food (e.g., spit pea soup, sugar pie, tourtière, etc.), and live music to listen and dance to. During the day, the Festival has more family friendly activities often with an appreciation of earlier pioneer living and other activities. Definitely worth checking out. It’s often very cold out … they do have heated small venues and fire pits, but dress warmly nonetheless!

Good walking and bike trails

Festival du Voyager always a good time. Buy tickets ahead of time tho.

Festival was packed and expensive, more about getting drunk then our culture

Beautiful!

Nice bike trails, pretty park. Saw a deer and several woodpeckers.

Had a lot of fun there.

We had a picnic lunch and walked in the park past the fort and over to the ice tower. The ice is melting quickly from the tower. All that's left of the ice sculptures is their skeletons.

Soo much to offer for anyone waking their dog.

Fort Gibraltar was just excellent. The guides couldn't have been better.

Ride bikes

Great place to walk in the heart of the city.

Its always a great time at the Festival du Voyageur! Brave the cold and you wont regret it.

love walking my dog

A hidden gem. Quiet spot with lots of space.

Good view

Great walking trail.

Love the outdoors and love this area

Huge green space absolutely beautiful

Biking

Had a great time!

It's a hidden gem with trails along the river, but be careful. Lot of people take dogs off-leash! I wouldn't bring my dog there ever knowing there's too many off-leash dogs.

A nice quiet green space kind of isolated from the city (yet central) and away from most traffic!

Absolutely loved the place! Whittier park is perfect for any types of festivals, no matter how grand it is. The environment is quite nice, and overall had an amazing experience there!

The festival was awesome so much fun. I recomend it to anyone but you must go early

Great mountain biking

Amazing oasis right in the heart of Winnipeg. Great spot for a quiet break or a short hike.

Beautiful sunny day to watch baseball. Nice that they have stands so do not have to carry a chair.

Nice like neing in a forest

Disappointed

Nice little neighborhood park to walk through trails

Nice park - well maintained. Good for a quiet morning walk.

Festival is the best, especially if youre underage ! I never got ID'd once nore did I get patted down, if you wanna have a blast sneak in a little Mickey crush that then skip the lines because you've arrived earlier and party your ass off !

Beautiful park!!

Nice trees

Had a field trip here! Great park! Fun for everyone!

It was a nice space to walk my dog and enjoy the historical settings! Its a nice area by the river. Lots of trees. No garbage cans or dog bags in the dog park area tho. Noticed people werent picking up after their dogs. Maybe thats why.

Great place to trail ride

Festival was good. Had some interesting street shows. Food and alcohol was expensive and the tents were crowded because it was so cold. Sculptures were good and really the only reason I went

Parking lot is fantastic there!

Festival Du Voyageur - always a great time!

A great historical place in Saint Boniface. Also home to the annual Festival du Voyageur which is always well worth visiting - great sculptures, activities, food and of course music!

Nice place for Voyageut festival. Smaller than I thought it'd be.

Trails are wide and well-groomed great place to take your dog for a walk open field if you want to throw a frisbee or set up some badminton access to the river for the fisherman all around good experience

Absolutely disgusted. They over sold their tickets, they had to, since you had to buy day passes this year. Waited 2 hours in line and finally gave up. People were sneaking into the tents left right and Centre. I want my money back. Worst Festival I've ever been to. I'm going to skip next year.

Lots of Memories. One of my favorites places to go

My son plays baseball here. Phenomenal views and the lights make it really special.

It is nice to have a new perspective upon downtown Winnipeg. People will enjoy the virws Whittier Park has to offer. It would be nice to have more parking available.
