Grade A is a great restaurant with lots of tasty food at reasonable prices. I love, especially their Chinese dinners, wonton soup, or their good old fashioned diner breakfasts with eggs, toast, sausages, and hash browns. All the staff are great, e.g. Gary, Ken, Sandy, Gail, and Karen.

I tried. I really did. This place is a block away from my place. So location is great. Service is fine. But the food? I ordered a bacon mushroom burger the other day and the beef tasted suspect. Same with the breakfast sausages I ordered the next day. And for $9.75? That's a $5 breakfast IMO. I can get way better quality at Fatburger of all places for the same price. Heavy sigh. 2 eggs, 3 sausages, 2 slicees of toast and hash browns? For 10 bucks?? Wish there was a a quality diner with decent prices on the Granville strip...

I stayed on Granville for work and came here 2 early mornings of the 3 days I stayed. Humble, older but clean place. Coffee is ok, breakfast is decent and cheap. Will return when I get back to Granville.

The good: owners are nice and prices are decent. The bad: as a visitor to Vancouver, I was fooled by the name into thinking I'll find "actual" seafood. In reality, only a couple of diner-style items exist. I ordered fish and chips. Fries from a frozen bag, tartar sauce in the little plastic containers, and Chinese-style fried fish.

ONE OF THE LAST OLD SCHOOL CAFE / DINERS on Granville St. The food is average, the coffee is decent, the prices are okay.... but damn, I love this place! It brings me back to a simpler time in life. Pop on in, grab a chair and bask in the essence of the 1970s.

The GRADE A is not beautiful! But if you want good wholesome home cooked meals including a small soup or salad and a desert for a very reasonable price this is the place. I'm not sure exactly how long they have been in this location but it's in the decades ( That alone speaks volumes ) and almost everyone returns. In these days when $20 buys nothing at the supermarket a 3 course meal, made up of quality ingredients that are served with a smile for under $10 is just short of a miracle. Don't be put off by it's rough exterior, it's plain but it's clean, the staff aren't fancy but they know what they're doing and they do it well. They have an amazing and varied menu, great breakfast specials which you can get all day BUT they close at 7pm so come early. They DO NOT take credit cards. Cash or debit only. So enjoy a home cooked meal, save some cash and I'll meet you at the GRADE A. John Taylor

The service is quite rude. They don't know how to appreciate their regular customers. The owner made up a story that I don't put the lids back on the tabasco bottles. She even had the audacity to accuse and blame me for her bad attendence to their restaurant, because I supposedly broke her lid to a tabasco bottle and flies and dirt go into the dirty bottles. I'm not going back there! After a couple of weeks she will notice my absence.

Delicious Chinese & Canadian food at a local business restaurant on Granville St - you're missing out if you haven't visited this one. The staff who works here work tirelessly each day to make sure the restaurant stays afloat and yet still remain friendly and polite to people who decide to pay this spot a visit. Kudos! I've been a return customer with my family and we'll keep coming by whenever we're in the neighborhood. :)

The good. The employees are friendly. The service is fast. The price is great. The food isn’t anything to write home about but it isn’t bad either. It’s actually better then I expected for the price. I think most people will find it good. I will be coming here very often. Now the bad points and these should not discourage any one. The place looks run down. But for me that isn’t a big deal. The clientele that dine there are people of great disadvantages probably because of the good price and it’s location. You will run into all walks of life from mental or physical disabilities to addicts and just really poor people looking for a cheap meal. If you want to help the poor, eat here make sure they stay in business and can offer food at low prices. I will be back.

Diner food, but done fairly well. Great value, considering its location! I'm actually not sure how they stay alive on the south end of the Granville strip. Get it while it lasts! Probably the last of the cheap downtown diners. :-(

This place is great for a dive. It's like a Canadian / Chinese Fusion Restaurant. You can get steak and eggs and chicken chow mein. Great idea. Set your expectations low and you will not be disappointed. Old cafeteria style seating, great location on Granville Street and staff that's been around for a while.

When I went for supper to Grade A Steaks, I was shocked to see 2 rat traps out in the open. Don't they realize that they are going to turn off customers when we don't want to eat food that was perhaps eaten by mice and rats?
