Our office team visited this Spice World hot pot restaurant in Jan. 2018. I think it is the best hot pot restaurant we even been in greater Vancouver. Their grilled beef and chicken wings are also the best. Service is excellent. They also offer free valet parking.

First of all, the service was fantastic. The waiter was super nice, explained everything patiently. We had tom yum and mushroom base soup which both were so good...I had few bowls of soups. Foods were presented nicely. I would say they were better than Mongolian hotpot place. One thing is that it's hard to find a parking spot, so we had to park at the mall near by and walk.

Great spot for a Chinese hot pot meal. Food all very fresh and reasonably priced for this area. Lots of sauces and amenities available for your meal. The decor is upscale Chinese and very comfortable. Service very good with all staff being very attentive. If you choose the hot broth be careful as their medium can be very hot!! Just remember to remove the hot peppers from the pot not too long into the meal. Also they offer split pots so you can satisfy different taste at the table (hot, mild, savory). Highly recommended for Chinese hot pot.

I haven't tried their hot pot yet but their bbq food is sooooooo much better than happy tree bbq. Pricing is very good for the food quality. Must try their bbq chicken wings. Their beef, lamb, chicken cartilage skewers are really good too!

My friends love the charcoal grilled food, but if u aren't a fan of cumin, like me, u will not be able to enjoy any of them. The hotpot soup base on the otherhand is beyond tasty. We had the tomato pork soup base and everyone loved the fresh sweet tomato - veggies were so yummy after absorbing the 'essence' :p Food overall was good but abit on the pricey side. Parking here could be a pain in the a$$, especially during dinner time on the weekend.

The food was decent, but service was not good. Hadn't been here or had hot pot before, and I had let the server know. Food took forever and he didn't even mention a table filled with sauces, that should be used with the meat. I only saw this as I was standing at the counter waiting to pay.

This restaurant may not look much from the outside but the interior has a great presence. The decor and the layout is just impeccable. It will be great to take a first date but also ideal for big groups. The service is also very classy. The servers remind me of French maitre'd who are always there to answer every question and to make sure you know exactly what you need to do. There is a small menu for individual meals. It seems skewers are quite popular here. There are other dishes that are served but our main concern is for the hot pot. We were given a bigger menu for the hot pot. You'll have given a dry erase marker to check what you want from the smaller(individual) menu.

I have eaten at most hot pot in lower mainland bc. This is on top for flavor and selection. Serving size is good. Hot pot broths come full of vegitables and meats. Take it easy ordering additions, the beef and lamb I superior to most in the city. Pork dumplings have a unique flavour which you will either love or hate. Speed is slow but services friendly and enjoyable.

Horrific service*, incredible broths and sauces. Cost is high. The positive is the fact that the broths and sauces are incredibly flavourful, perfectly seasoned, and fresh. The meats and vegetables are decent-quality. The aroma of the restaurant is incredible as you walk in. The negatives: horrendous service and high pricing. Ordered a platter of meat that took about a decade of medicinal advancements to arrive (just thin-sliced meat that wasn't even fully thawed -- and the restaurant was close to empty at this timne!). Big spenders at another table got very friendly and certainly suck-up service. Don't expect to get any service at all if you're spending under $100 CAD. *Perfect place if you have mommy-daddy money to spend on a nice white BMW/Mercedes/Range Rover, but pricing is high for the low amount and average quality of meats / vegetables you get.

We ordered for pickup and had one dish missing, which is not a big deal for me if they handled it properly. When we called in to let them know the issue, they just said they can compensate the next time we visit, without asking for any information from us. No name, no phone number, no order record, nothing. It seems all they wanted was having the mistake swept under the rug asap, because, quoting who answered the call, "it's just a couple of bucks". It just shows how little they care about the customers and I won't bother dropping by this place any more.

A relatively new comer to the saturated market of Hot Pot restaurants. What matters most in any Hot Pot restaurants is it's ability to produce a fantastic broth to cook in. Spice World does not let you down as they offer a LARGE variety of stock to choose from. The one I chose ("Macau Pork Bone Soup") was quite nice and light allowing consistent flavour to permeate the ingredients being cooked. It was neither too salty or too heavy, a perfect balance. The raw ingredients offered are incredibly fresh and one could say care was taken when being prepped. The sauces are quite average on a roller cart, couldn't help but laugh at the soy sauce being dispensed from a Heineken beer tower. The biggest surprise was the BBQ menu offered far exceeded it's Hot Pot taste, the few skewers and chicken wings I ordered; I was pleasantly surprised at the depth and range of flavour each bite offered. I found this to be the high light of the dinner. The service was unfortunately far below average during service. I was largely ignored during most of the dinner. I hate doing it but you must aggressively wave your hand while attempting to get the attention of the closest associate to get any service. My bill was largely forgotten and I had to remind 3 waiters/hosts that I still have not paid, this took nearly 15 minutes to accomplish. I do see Spice World as one step up from casual for it's relatively high pricing. Though quite tasty, I feel the quality of food offered did not match it's price.

Last year we went for the 1st time and it was quite nice, hotpot was good, service was excellent from Andy. We decided to go again this time and it was a disaster. Hotpot soup was so tasteless, crabs was old, not fresh and tasted bitter. Service was even worse than foods. It took an hour from the time we sat down to the time they started bringing foods to the table. They kept forgetting what we ordered and requested even after manny times we had to remind them. They definitely are way too short of workers... won't comeback, will try another place next time to hotpot

Loved the experience here! The service was good, and the waiters were attentive. Our group spoke mainly English (along with Mandarin and Cantonese) and he was able to accommodate us. Food was good quality, fresh and well displayed. They even helped us move food from the side table to the main table as we were finishing up. Delicious skewers as well! Please be aware that you'll probably get double parked if you park right outside of the restaurant later in the night. The guests are another story. They won't care and double park right in the middle of the driveway, just so they can eat at the restaurant.

3 out of the 6 dishes we ordered were good, the corn, beef skewer and sanma were very good. However, the main dish, the spicy hot pot, was a major let down. It was too salty so we asked the staff to remake it, and it came back just as salty the second time so we just let it be. The spicy beef tripe is also very different from what I had almost in every other place. Overall, not very impressed with this restaurant and probably won't revisit any time soon. Side note, we visited way after dinner hours, but their servers were just minding their business and weren't very attentive.

We gave it at go. After 4.4 review. Friendly staff very attentive and always there to get what we wanted. Food was delicious and enough. Just downside is you need to get here early and avoid the line up. Parking is in the mall or on the street.
