My dream institution

(Translated) Excellent university and beautiful campus in Halifax. Late summer and early fall make the leaves and trees darker. There is a hospital and cemetery along the way, and the buildings are separated from each other by wide, well-signposted streets, as is the case with the Law School.

Nice looking campus, but a painfully underwhelming education with inattentive staff. If you have the ability to, go elsewhere.

Racist

Blatantly racist! ...will never see a dime of tuition from me..

Zero transparency when I have inquired how many dogs, cats, rabbits, mice have been used for research this year. I am a tax payer, this university is funding by our taxes and I am declined an answer. Survivors of sexual assault at Dalhousie have until November 3 to call the university’s helpline. Dalhousie Student Union says it can only offer the sexual assault and harassment phone line service for the first eight weeks of classes after being offered inadequate funding from the university’s administration. #dalhateswomen #dalhatesanimals

Great place to go to entrench misogyny, duplicity, dishonesty and incompetence. Oh wait, those are the Dean of Dentistry and the President.

Ive gained a vast amout on knolage and im ready to flip burgers!!!

Wonderful University.

(Translated) I am a graduate of the Dal MBA in 1998. The premises were older and now relatively new. There are not many Chinese here, and Chinese food is relatively small. Can practice English well. Relatively speaking, it is located on the east coast of Canada. Business is not as prosperous as Ottawa and Toronto, so people who come to study business here are less likely to find a job. Law and order here is relatively good (Original) 我是1998年 Dal MBA的畢業生。當年房舍較舊,現在比較新。這兒的華人不多,中國食物也比較少。可以好好練習英文。 相對來說位在加國東岸,商業不若渥太華、多倫多繁榮,所以來此讀商的人較不好找工作。 此處治安相對較好

It's okay

Treated really well and excellent service by ever department

LET ME GRADUATE

Offers a wide variety of programs through the most dedicated teaching staff, and talented researchers. But hey, I'm biased (I work here). Why not check it out and see for yourself!

Beautiful Institute

Worst staff, this university management is incompetent in communication. Their admission process is disastrous. They send acceptance and rejections letters to wrong people. Their evaluation of your degrees and education is pathetic. They are understaffed. Emails are answered weeks and months late. They dont follow up with students, even after students email the staff. This place is a messed up organization.

Greatest place for dentist needs, pleasant ,friendly, understanding and caring .. so pleased to be part of their clientele.

Very good and walking around location in Halifax city many local events are available always...

This utter piece of trash uni does not deserve a star; rather it should be taken out & shot! Can't say for ALL uni's in Canada...but I've studied in a few already and it's been the most abysmal experience due to pathetic, substandard quality of education & professors, library, students & opportunities and just fails across the board really. All that glitters is NOT gold...this garbage uni is certainly an absolute waste of money for international students. On the positive side, there's no lack of ignorant, arrogant, impolite and condescending idiots in the faculty, administration and student groups. Inspiring minds...sure did inspire me to write this review!

If you want to experience the worst 4 years of your life please attend Dalhousie, better yet enrol in the Commerce program. Even though my professors are great and all know me by name and allow me to call them by their first name it is the co-op program that makes this program hell!!! They give you no help at all and do not realistically portray the difficulty in getting a job and they allow for absolutely no flexibility at all!! You can end up spending years waiting to graduate because of their ridiculous requirements! do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, somewhere that doesn't cost as much either

Finished an undergraduate degree here it is a beautiful campus. Beautiful memories I will treasure forever.

Someday I Would Like to check out Dalhouse Halifax Nova Scotai Canada and i would Like to walk All around that Place all by My Self and go Inside all of the Building(include Delplex) an walk all around this building all by My Self and I can walk all by my Self and I can Really Walk to Citadel Hill or to Halifax water front Board walk from Here and You will love it to

I finished the first year of my undergraduate degree at Dalhousie. I applied for a transfer (and was later accepted ≧◡≦) to UofT to complete the rest of my undergraduate degree. The classes and professors at Dalhousie are great, there are oppurtunities for research (among other things) if you take the time to look, and the surrounding city can be pretty enjoyable. I chose to transfer because of the poor student atmosphere and multiple instances of blatant racism on campus. It really takes away from the experience o(╥﹏╥)o. Going to love the change 〜(^∇^〜)(〜^∇^)〜.

Great school Great professors. Also, it is important to know all that Dalhousie has to offer with bursaries and student support

Commonly known as Dal, is a public research university in Nova Scotia, Canada, with three campuses in Halifax, and a fourth in Bible Hill. Dalhousie offers more than 4,000 courses and 180 degree programs in twelve undergraduate, graduate, and professional faculties.[3] The university is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada

(Translated) It is difficult to understand that this decision is so difficult to take. Is it just because the university is scared of the lawsuits of the parents of these budding little bastards? Is it because men (there seem to be only men among the representatives who address the journalists) who will make these decisions are part of this generation for whom the denigrating or vulgar remarks were nothing other than the representation of a society in which everyone was allowed ????? Society as a whole denounces these actions. How come people who are supposedly intelligent, at least that's what we thought, are so hesitant to make the decision to say NO THREATS TO WOMEN!

My School????

Awesome

You will be miserable if you attend this school. Everyone, from the staff, to the faculty, to the students are unfriendly and competitive. The students even admit to being nasty to each other and that this is okay behavior in their eyes. The faculty do nothing to protect the student. White male privilege runs rampant and POC and women have no voice. You will feel very isolated and gaslighted at every turn. Your health will suffer. If you attend this school, be prepared to deal with a lot. For students with children, STAY AWAY. PICK ANOTHER SCHOOL.

Questionable team of professors in certain STEM Faculties make it hard to recommend.

The books are good but the people are better. Great place to study

I only drove a friend there for an appointment so I only know what she tells me

You meet people from all around and learn both socially, academically and mentally.

Best school ever

Great university! Study here if you can.

Two degrees and counting!

Best university in Nova Scotia.

I suppose Dal is a good school for research, but terrible for undergrad experience. They have left their commerce students high and dry for co-ops this year, with no help finding placements and forcing students into COVID-19 hot spots to ensure they graduate. EPIC fail Dalhousie. The handling of the pandemic has been abysmal all around with profs treating students like an inconvenience. I do not recommend this school to anyone looking at an undergrad degree and a good college experience.

While most of the staff is great, as an employee you have absolutely no recourse or rights if you are mistreated. Staff such as PIs and professors are allowed to mentally and psychologically abuse employees at will. They can de facto demote you for nothing, despite all of the "protections" regarding changes to job duties. HR says there is absolutely nothing they can do. Do NOT work or study here.

Nice campus

The management of the admissions office is very chaotic.

Great hands on school, there work is exceptional

Historical information on this

School

Did my undergrad at Dalhousie, and I believe it is the best university in Canada when it comes to learning and student life. I visited U of Toronto, Queens, McMasters, Mt. Allison, MSVU and none of these campuses are as convenient as Dal. Some may argue that Toronto is right in downtown on subway, but the housing is very expensive and the environment is very crowded. I completed a two-years Master program at McGill. Montreal and McGill students are fascinating, but the school itself has some awful professors and crowded classrooms. When I did my undergrad in Halifax, Dalhousie-Kings College offered a wide variety of programs, gave out many bursaries and scholarships, and had a ton of societies which you can get involved. The professors and university administration were extremely friendly and approachable. On another note: if you are looking to go to Med school, go to Halifax, partake in the municipal election, and then apply to Dal Med. You will have a higher chance of entering as a NS resident. Since the quality of undergraduate education is unanimous in all universities, student life and experiences are what it really matters when choosing a university for undergraduate studies.

I was very impressed with the facility. The dentistry students we excellent.

Everyone is so helpful and lovely.

(Translated) Excellent place, offers a quality education. (Original) Excelente lugar, ofrece una educación de calidad.

Be carful!!!! This is a scam University. Specially engineering program . Register office will try to take money of you even if you did not apply to it. They do many tricks to manipulate student be making courses difficult so they can move them to other programs and keeping them paying!!! Get to your self better school. That was the worse decision that I ever made to go to this trashy place .

It's the best university campus that I have visited

It's OK. It's beautiful, but it tastes ordinary.

Karen, At the registrar's office, is handsdown the most helpful person. She helped me at once with an issue I had. Previously, contacting the university several times to resolve it.

(Translated) Dal s the beeeeeeeeeest! Ever! (Original) Dal s the beeeeeeeeeest! Ever!

The University is huge, extending many acres. One can't possibly make use of all facilities and services offered during one's study. Students are free to follow their own world in the university. Its an all inclusive university which don't discriminate and practices what it preaches. I am impressed by the standards, may be if its more competent enough, the world university ranking can be improved.

Faculty of Engineering (Sexton Campus), previously named as TUNS: Technical University of Nova Scotia

Went here to participate in labs for middle school science trip. Great facility, great labs and students were thrilled with visit.

Lousy University !

Nice campus

One of the finest universities in the world.

Prestigious institution

Beautiful University

I applied and got accepted in 2019, decided not to go and did all the paperwork to make sure I wasn't enrolled. They're still trying to say I attended classes, and sent the "tuition" I owe to collections, which is now affecting my credit. Even though they took a $9 million bailout from the government and raised tuition prices during covid, they're still trying to get money out of people that haven't even been there. The fact that I've never submitted an assignment, never attended a class, never logged in to anything online should be enough to prove that I wasn't a student, but the dean's office can't seem to figure that out. I've spoken to numerous people on the phone and through emails trying to get this dealt with for 3 years, and they just assume I'm lying and can't bother doing their job for 5 minutes to realize I've very obviously never set foot in Dalhousie. Unfortunately I have to get a lawyer to deal with this now to sue for damages which is costing thousands, just because student services, admissions AND the dean's office are so incompetent. Make sure you don't apply here, it might ruin your credit.

Dalhousie has one of the most beautiful university campuses I've ever been on. I stayed in one of the newer residences for a month in the summer and absolutely loved it. The campus is teeming with life and is really close to downtown which is nice.

beautiful campuse. great place to learn

Way better than smu

(Translated) Hi It's 1998 My grandfather went to the Routine Test in Shivalik Lab, he gave a report in the tests, in which he was suspected of getting cancer, Sir Gangaram ran like us, he did not have any problem, but when he went there for investigation The doctor of the doctor also said with surprise that the report given by the Shivlik was so good that he could not believe that even in a small town one could make such a report, my grandfather came to know before being a cancer. Gone, and he recovered after treatment. Today Grandpa is not in this world, but he could live so many years only because of Shivalik's diagnose. 5 Star. Should say it all.

Inspiring.

Second to none as a teaching medical facility

are these negative comments addressed to Dalhousie University true? I am opting to study there but it seems that the derogatory statements declared mostly by International students are very convincing.. Reckoning of studying in Acadia Uni or MUN in Newfoundland... sigh :p

“The heart of Halifax” said by many people. As Town of Antigonish built around Stfx, the town of Halifax is also built around Dalhousie. Many key members also graduated from here. Such as , Brad Peyton, Michael Trudeau and Kathryn D. Sullivan.

This is a highly rated university for good reason - if you are a student here. If you are a tradesperson, the barriers that are in place that need to be worked around are prohibitive to a productive environment. From parking to building access, it is a constant struggle to get your projects done in reasonable time.

Very big campus with lots of potential for those seeking knowledge in a vast variety of fields. This means - access to a huge number of faculty that is always available for you and access to a very wide range of degrees and post-degree positions which can satisfy many walks of life.

Has busses going right so don't need car Puts you in center main area

The blind leading the blind.

I love the style

The largest and most academically diverse university in Atlantic Canada. Great partnership with other universities and industry area.

The Engineering Campus at Sexton needs to have the facilities that the Collaborative Health Educational Building in Carleton Campus has, such as great study rooms, a variety of big white boards, comfortable and fancy chairs, and more space to accommodate more students as possible. The place in Sexton that is made fully for studying is the Sexton library which is trash. Other than that it has caring and helpful staff members that are willing to work for the understanding and benefit of students

Great ambience

Dalhousie University (commonly known as Dal) is a public research university in Nova Scotia, Canada, with three campuses in Halifax, a fourth in Bible Hill, and medical teaching facilities in Saint John, New Brunswick. Dalhousie offers more than 4,000 courses, and 180-degree programs in twelve undergraduate, graduate, and professional faculties.[5] The university is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada.

Amazing campus, beautiful city, great professors, friendly administration staff. Great experience here!

Dal, it's a great place!

I am very unimpressed with the financial institution of Dalhousie University. Do not bother applying there if you are a Canadian Veteran like myself. They do not care at all. Eventhough I served 8 years in the military, they would not consider me a mature student as they create their own definition of 'mature student'. They were extremely rude in their email correspondence. Furthermore, the advisor I had an appointment with did not know what they were talking about. They gave me the wrong information in regards to the program I was interested in. Dalhousie definitely needs to improve their manners as well as training for advisors. I decided to apply to NSCC for a similar program following this awful experience. NSCC was very friendly - pretty much the opposite of Dalhousie.

Working on dental building closed to the public, only emergency patients I do believe

(Translated) As McGill University in Marathime is nicknamed, you can feel the wide campus and the long history of university buildings. (Original) 매리타임의 맥길대학이 별명인만큼, 넓은 캠퍼스와 오랜역사를 가진 대학교빌딩들 느낌을 느낄수 있음.

I can't go into details why i absolutely dreaded during my stay at Dal for 2 years. It's not that I can't but I don't want to remember the horrible experiences and lack of support I got from the university. Also the person in charge with helping students on their schedule and advising is pretty awful because they say discouraging hurtful small comments to the students. Excuse my English for I am an ESL student.

One of the best universty in Canada and it’s huge in the city center Halifax Nova Scotia.

I work here

Women aren’t safe from men at this university, they don’t even address the problem
